Ukraine-Russia, WSJ: “Vatican to host talks in June, US also present”

(Adnkronos) – The Vatican may host a new round of talks between Russia and Ukraine in mid-June, the Wall Street Journal reported today, adding that a U.S. delegation, including U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Donald Trump's special envoy Keith Kellogg, will also participate in the meetings.
Again according to the WSJ, which cites three different sources, the American president admitted, speaking to European leaders on Monday, that Vladimir Putin is not ready to end the war since he believes he is winning. In the phone call on Monday, after the one with Vladimir Putin, the American president however backtracked on the possibility of introducing new sanctions against Moscow, which had been raised only the day before, in the event that the Russian president had not accepted the ceasefire. Those taking part in the phone call on Monday with Trump were Volodymir Zelensky, Emmanuel Macron, Friedrich Merz, Giorgia Meloni and Ursula von der Leyen.
