Bologna's Torre della Specola shines again after 22 years.
The external restoration of the building has been completed and so today, 299 years after its construction (1726) and after having spent the last 22 years wrapped and protected by scaffolding which hid its architectural forms, the Tower of the Astronomical Museum of the Alma Mater once again shows itself to the city.

Bologna, July 16, 2025 - After more than twenty years of enforced invisibility and a long and complex construction project, the Torre della Specola shines again , revealing itself once again to the citizens of Bologna, the Alma Mater community, and tourists. This is the first step in a comprehensive renovation project for the University Museum System, which will also see the completion of the museum exhibition inside the Tower this fall.
