The Myth of Colleoni. Holograms and Exhibitions. The Condottiero Relives

Bergamo, 550 years after his death, pays homage with various initiatives to Bartolomeo Colleoni , a leader from Bergamo, one of the most famous Italian mercenary captains of the Renaissance, an era in which the Lordships relied on them for their skill and preparation, so much so that they were often able to defeat the most efficient foreign armies. At the Mai library in Bergamo , the oldest and most important library in the city, an exhibition of handwritten documents and his will has been set up.

In Urgnano, the traditional Festa in Rocca , which began on Thursday, focuses on a technological innovation: a reconstruction of the historical figure through a 3D hologram . The title of this edition of the festival, the 43rd organized by the association PromoUrgnano with the patronage and funding of the Municipality, is "Colleoni, the Great Leader". During the initiative, the traveling exhibition "On the lands of Colleoni" will also stop in the Sala d'Armi, which tells the story of the places in the life of the great leader from Bergamo. But the Festa in Rocca in Urgnano dedicates several moments to the figure of Colleoni, starting with the brand new itinerary through the rooms of the Rocca, entitled "The return of Colleoni", which will bring to life the events of his secret return to Urgnano.

The peculiarity is that visitors will witness the materialization of the leader through three-dimensional holograms . The Mai library in Bergamo, instead, hosts the "Terre colleonesche" exhibition, organized by the "Pianura da scoprire" association, which includes an exhibition of documents related to the famous leader until August 1st in the Sala Tassiana.

Among the documents on display, a sixteenth-century copy of the will of the captain of fortune, drawn up in original in Martinengo on 27 October 1475.
