Guzzi's Eagle's Nest: the new factory-museum takes shape in Mandello

The new factory will be ready within a year of the Moto Guzzi Open House in September 2026.
Mandello del Lario (Lecco), August 17, 2025 – The new Eagle's Nest in Mandello is taking shape. It will be ready in a year, by the Moto Guzzi Open House in September 2026, when Guzzi enthusiasts and fans from around the world will be able to enter the renovated factory through the iconic red gate on Lake Como, where all Guzzis have been dreamed, conceived, and born, uninterruptedly since 1921. Work is underway. It is being overseen by Greg Lynn , the 61-year-old American designer and star architect who won the Golden Lion at the Venice Architecture Biennale in 2008.

"Giving a name to what we're building isn't easy," he explains. "It's a factory, a showroom, a museum ... It's a living factory." This involves a complete renovation and reorganization: the red door will always remain the same, with the Moto Guzzi logo and the design of the eagle with spread wings, but once inside, everything will be different. It will almost be like crossing a portal into the future , amidst architecture, design, innovative solutions, technology, and buildings that resemble spaceships.
“Cutting-edge reality”"The most cutting-edge factory you've ever seen," Greg promises. "We'll maintain the spirit of this unique place, the soul of Guzzi, but offer a completely new experience ." A town square, more than a factory, where visitors can get closer than ever to those who build the object of their dreams—artisans more than metalworkers—admiring every stage and step of the construction and assembly process. "A collective space," the designer sums up.

And then there's environmental sustainability , efficient use of resources, photovoltaic systems, and eco-sustainable materials, in perfect harmony with the lake on one side and the Grigna on the other. Up to 40,000 Mandello Eagles will be born in the new nest each year. " Believe it or not, we'll be ready for the Guzzi Days in 2026, when the grand opening will take place," announces the architect of the new Guzzi factory. "A unique vision, for a unique place and a unique brand in the world."
