Hera, supplier code of conduct approved

The Board of Directors of the Hera Group today approved the new Code of Conduct for suppliers. It is – explains a press release from the company – “an innovative 'sustainability pact with suppliers' that strengthens the multi-utility's commitment to promoting an increasingly responsible supply chain in line with ESG principles.
This Code – the note continues – “was conceived through a participatory process, which actively involved a representative group of suppliers with whom to share principles and rules on sustainability and corporate ethics and co-design a real sustainability pact, with the aim of stimulating the sustainable growth of the entire value chain”. With the Code of Conduct, the Hera Group “renews its commitment to recognizing and valorizing companies that adopt high standards in the ethical, social and environmental fields, also through the introduction of rewards in tenders or in the supplier qualification process. This Code is closely connected to the Hera Group Code of Ethics, reflects its fundamental values of responsibility, integrity, transparency and coherence and its introduction is a further step in the path towards a business model that considers sustainability a driver of growth and competitiveness”.
"We are among the first in our sector to implement such a structured and participatory approach to supply chain sustainability. Our new Code of Conduct for suppliers - explained Marco Del Giaccio, Director of Purchasing and Contracts of the Hera Group - is not just a formal document, but a real mutual commitment. This strengthens our leadership as a "responsible supply chain leader", supporting suppliers in their growth and innovation path. We firmly believe that the quality and sustainability of services also depend on our supplier network. For this reason, investing in sharing objectives and good practices oriented towards sustainability is strategic and helps us understand our expectations and be more competitive. It is a shared growth path that allows the Hera Group to achieve excellence together with its suppliers. After all, the Code we have developed is not just a simple set of rules, but a real tool for sharing our values with all suppliers."
"The Hera Group adopts a rigorous approach in the selection of its suppliers, which goes well beyond mere economic advantage: it substantially evaluates their sustainability profile, actively favoring those who respect the most stringent environmental and social standards. The company's commitment, therefore, does not end with the choice, but extends to the proactive support of suppliers to constantly improve their sustainability performance, building a more responsible future together", writes Hera in its note.
"The Supplier Code of Conduct is part of the multi-utility's broader path to create shared value and implement a business model guided by its own Code of Ethics, which was updated in 2023 based on the company's purpose. Hera also stands out for its collaborative and non-imposing approach towards its suppliers, focusing on empowerment and joint growth", the multi-utility further explains.
