Inclusion allowance, chaos over renewals. Post Office: "There's no need to go to the counter."

MILAN – August 15th mess over the Inclusion Allowance . For those eligible starting from January 2024, the benefit expired in June, and in July it was possible to apply for renewal. If approved, the new payment would have started today, August 14th, along with the "bridge" benefit for the month of July . This choice of date was contested by some unions, who, however, claimed that many had gone directly to the post office to obtain the benefit.
"The Slp Cisl , together with the trade unions Confsal , Failp Cisal , and Ugl Com , expresses deep outrage over Poste Italiane's handling of the launch of the Inclusion Income, brought forward to August 14th without prior consultation and in the middle of the summer season," they emphasized in a statement. "This unilateral decision has led to serious disruptions: post offices overwhelmed by an extraordinary influx of citizens, staff lacking adequate resources and forced to work under high stress, posing risks to their physical and psychological safety," said Sl Cisl Secretary General Raffaele Roscigno, adding that "it is unacceptable to make decisions of this magnitude without assessing the inevitable organizational repercussions and without developing adequate safety plans."
Post Office: "There's no need to go to the office."However, Poste Italiane promptly announced that it is not necessary to visit a post office to receive the credit, as if the renewal is approved, the amount will be credited directly to the existing card. The company is "informing citizens who have received confirmation for the renewal of their Inclusion Allowance that the credit will be made to the card they already have, which will also include the amount of the bridging benefit for the July payment." Poste also clarified that "therefore, it is not necessary to visit a post office."
