"Given the significant post-pandemic cost of living increase, the Region has promptly committed to finding solutions to ensure greater resources for the public administration sector during contract renewal. We have developed a proposal that provides for an overall 9.5% increase in compensation, 2% of which will be in the form of corporate welfare incentives. This, in addition to injecting new liquidity, would lead to effective equalization of the sector by extending welfare measures to municipal employees as well." This was announced by Pierpaolo Roberti, Regional Councilor for Local Authorities and Public Administration, on the sidelines of a meeting held today with trade unions to discuss the contract renewal for non-managerial public administration staff for the three-year period 2022-24.

"The Region," Roberti recalled, "had already planned a salary increase of up to 6%, in line with national regulations, but increases due to inflation and energy costs have highlighted the need for further adjustments, within the legal limits. With this measure, we will therefore increase the benefit by an additional 1.5%, equivalent to an allocation of €2.35 million for Regional staff. The welfare measures, on the other hand, amount to €3.2 million for regional employees and €7.5 million for local government employees." As the councilor emphasized, "the goal is to quickly reach an agreement with the unions so that the proposal can be brought to the attention of the Chamber as soon as it is finalized."
