Tankoa acquires the Otam shipyard and brand

Tankoa Yachts, a Genoese shipyard specializing in the construction of custom superyachts, announces the acquisition of the Otam business. The transaction, completed in full agreement with the two owner families (Rampezzotti and Capua), includes both the historic Genoa production facility and the brand. The mooring services business, with 60 berths at the Santa Margherita Ligure marina, will remain under the previous ownership. The value of the acquisition has not been disclosed, but market rumors suggest it is worth approximately €5 million.
The expansion project presented by Tankoa in early 2025 is therefore continuing and will be realized with the expansion of the Setri Ponente shipyard. The Otam facility, adjacent to the buyer's, encompasses approximately 4,800 square meters of covered space, 3,300 square meters of uncovered space, and a body of water of nearly 10,000 square meters, with infrastructure and workshops already operational. It will be the subject, Tankoa management explains, "a restructuring and upgrade program. The concessions will be extended, and the areas will be consolidated and reorganized, with the construction of new production facilities, in line with Tankoa's current needs."
The acquisition involves more than just space and infrastructure: OTAM's 17 employees will be integrated into the buyer's team, "ensuring employment continuity and enriching the shipyard with new skills and experience. The OTAM brand, with its long tradition and consolidated international recognition, thus becomes part of Tankoa's heritage. The shipyard is committed to keeping it alive while it defines the most consistent strategy with a long-term vision."
