Waste Recycling Bonus 2026: Who is eligible for the 25% discount on the Tari (waste tax). Benefits for families with four children.

Starting in 2026, families eligible for the waste tax credit will be eligible for a 25% discount on the Tari (waste tax) . The benefit is available to families with an ISEE (Indicative Economic Situation) of less than €9,530, with a cap of up to €20,000 for large families with at least four dependent children. This concrete and guaranteed support requires no application: access to the benefit is completely automatic.
The Tari (waste tax) is the tax with which taxpayers finance the costs of waste collection and disposal. This local tax is paid by those who physically occupy the property or, if the property is vacant, by those who own it. Furthermore, the Tari tax is not paid for the actual production of waste, but rather the mere possibility of producing it while residing in the property subject to this tax. The prerequisite for paying the waste tax is the possession or occupation of premises or open spaces capable of producing waste. It is the user of the property who pays, not the owner. Two aspects must be considered:
- The Tari is calculated according to a fixed quota and a variable quota
- The amount is determined in relation to both the characteristics of the property and those of the family unit.
