Zamaro (Fvg): "Working to improve performance and citizen satisfaction"

'Among the objectives, implementation of the oncology network, social health integration and social protection'
As a Region "we have improved but we still need to work to improve not only performance, but also citizen satisfaction. We should focus on social health integration and social protection, which sees us as a 'dancing' indicator". This was stated by Giovanna Zamaro, central director of Health, social policies and disability of the Friuli-Venezia Giulia Region, on the occasion of the presentation - today in Rome - of the XIII Crea Sanità Report by the Center for Applied Economic Research in Health at the University of Rome Tor Vergata on 'Regional Performance'.
Friuli-Venezia Giulia ranked in the third group of regions, with a performance index between 33% and 41%, indicating average social and health protection. From 2019 to 2024, the region - the report states - made significant progress, exceeding 70% of the assessed indicators. However, it remains in an intermediate position in the overall ranking, with room for improvement and far from optimal levels. It does not fully meet the resilience criteria to ensure medium-term sustainability, which highlights the need for further action to address sustainability challenges and improve the quality of services.
"The other aspect that we should pay attention to and that we are already putting into practice is the implementation of the oncology network. There is the oncology plan that is taking shape and will be implemented soon. What is interesting is to build networks, because we could have resilience only if there is networking, which is not only a healthcare networking, but also a social one, integrated with the Third Sector, with stakeholders and in a relationship between the public, the accredited-contracted private sector, the foundations and all those who want to support us", he concludes.
