Nivea Sun supports sun protection and respect for the planet

Nivea Sun shines a spotlight on the importance of sun protection and respect for the planet. The brand will launch targeted initiatives throughout Italy as part of the “Protezione senza LiMiti” project: a program that combines education and skin care, to raise awareness among consumers on the importance of conscious and daily sun protection together with the Italian Red Cross with a tour that from June to August will touch 9 Italian locations, including cities and seaside resorts, bringing educational interventions to the area aimed at young people and adults to increase awareness of the risks associated with inadequate sun exposure. At each stop, a mobile dermatological clinic will be active where everyone can have a free skin screening, through the presence of a dermatologist, and receive useful advice on how to prevent sunburn, protect the skin and reduce the risk of diseases thanks to the support of CRI volunteers.
To continue promoting the importance of daily sun protection, even away from the beaches, Nivea Sun is launching the traveling initiative “I Bagnini del Sole”. Throughout the country, in urban parks, central squares and tourist destinations, engaging activities will be promoted for consumers through which to spread and emphasize the culture of daily sun protection. The protagonists will be special “lifeguards” who will act as spokespersons for the message of awareness on taking care of your skin from the sun's rays every day, wherever you are. Among the activities, Nivea Sun Protect&Hydrate sun products will also be distributed, the line designed for complete protection thanks to the new formula that acts through a double level of defense: on the surface, the UVA and UVB filters that are also effective against visible light immediately protect against sun damage; in depth, the plant-based antioxidant complex Citracell-Protect helps fight free radicals, helping to protect the skin from long-term damage. The new improved formula offers hydration for up to 48 hours and stands out for its extra light, fast-absorbing texture, leaving the skin protected, fresh and non-sticky.
In conjunction with the start of the summer season, NIVEA renews for the third consecutive year the “Oasi Marina” project dedicated to the underwater reforestation of Posidonia oceanica, the most important marine plant for the conservation of the ecosystems of our seas. After the previous editions on the Island of Elba and Palmaria and Torre Guaceto, this year the project arrives at the Marine Protected Area “Regno di Nettuno” on the Island of Ischia, where approximately 2 thousand cuttings will be planted on a surface of 200 square meters for the restoration of a degraded marine meadow thanks to the collaboration with Fondazione Medsea, an organization specialized in the restoration of marine ecosystems. “Oasi Marina” is part of the company's commitment to environmental sustainability: packaging and formulations are designed with great attention to minimize their impact on the ecosystems of our planet.
"We are very proud of the projects that we will carry out with Nivea during the summer and throughout the year. We have always been committed to taking care of people and their skin not only through the development of high-quality products and formulations, but also through concrete actions in favor of society and the environment. For this reason, we believe it is essential to act actively to raise awareness and educate the public on conscious exposure to the sun, throughout the year and especially in the summer - says Anna Grassano, general manager Beiersdorf Southern Europe -. Our initiatives fit fully into our "Care Beyond Skin" path, with which we take care of society and the environment, with the aim of improving people's quality of life in a tangible and responsible way".
