Almasri, Meloni's case filed. Authorization requested for Nordio, Piantedosi, and Mantovano.

Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni has dismissed the case, while Justice Minister Carlo Nordio , Interior Minister Matteo Piantedosi , and Undersecretary to the Prime Minister's Office Alfredo Mantovano have requested authorization to proceed. This is the conclusion reached by the Tribunal of Ministers in the Almasri case, announced directly by Meloni on social media: "Today I was notified of the ruling by the Tribunal of Ministers for the Almasri case : more than six months after its initiation, compared to the three months required by law, and after unjustifiable leaks. The judges dismissed my case alone, while from the decree I gather that authorization to proceed will be requested against Ministers Piantedosi and Nordio , and Undersecretary Mantovano ."

Meloni continued: "Unlike some of my predecessors, who distanced themselves from one of their ministers in similar situations, I maintain that this government acts cohesively under my leadership: every decision, especially such important ones, is agreed upon. It is therefore absurd to ask that Piantedosi, Nordio, and Mantovano be tried, and not me, before them."
On the merits, I reiterate the correctness of the entire Executive's actions, which have had the protection of the safety of Italians as their sole compass. I stated this publicly immediately after learning of the entry into the register of suspects, and I will reiterate it in Parliament, sitting alongside Piantedosi, Nordio, and Mantovano when we vote on the authorization to proceed.
Meanwhile, the president of the Chamber's Authorizations Committee, Devis Dori , has announced that, at the moment, no documents relating to the Almasri dossier have been received from the court of ministers.
