The behavior prompted an immediate reaction from the trade unions (Fnsi, Sigim, Unirai), who condemned Ricci's words and asked for a public apology, underlining the right of journalists to carry out their work without pressure or delegitimization. “Education towards those who ask questions is civility, Ricci has exceeded every limit,” writes the Fnsi. The affair quickly turned into a political case, with the center-right accusing Ricci of arrogance and lack of transparency, while the unions reiterated the importance of freedom of the press.
