Five Star Movement: "Question on Giuli's book promoted by the Ministry of Culture"

" Alessandro Giuli , in his capacity as Minister of Culture, according to the newspaper Domani, has allocated €21,000 of public money for the publication and distribution of a book by Alessandro Giuli. That is, by himself. Since culture has had the misfortune of being administered by the Meloni government, we have often accused this government of cronyism, nepotism, and lazybones, but here we would be at an even higher level, well beyond the infosphere. We would be dealing with blatant self-referentialism paid for with public money, embodied in a ministerial self-financing operation worthy of a banana republic. An insult to intelligence, culture, and institutional decency." This is the statement from the Five Star Movement, which has announced the submission of a parliamentary question to ascertain the details of this case.

"Of course," added Luca Pirondini and Antonio Caso , the M5S group leaders in the Senate and Chamber of Deputies' culture committees, "it's clear to us that, to top it all off, Giuli himself will have to answer. Will he defend himself as a minister or as the book's author? It doesn't matter; what would emerge is the miserable level to which institutions are exposed every day under this government, especially when it comes to culture."
