Arezzo, 16 June 2025 – Israel-Iran conflict: PD Arezzo group leader Donato Caporali calls for a cessation of hostilities and a more incisive role for the Meloni government
The Council Group Leader of the Democratic Party of Arezzo Donato Caporali expresses deep concern for Israel's attack on Iran and the subsequent counterattack and condemns any form of violence that could further destabilize the already tormented Middle Eastern region.
We urgently call for an immediate cessation of hostilities and the initiation of a constructive dialogue between the parties involved, in order to find a peaceful and lasting solution to the conflict.
In this context, it is believed that the Italian government, led by Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, should take a more incisive and proactive role in the search for a peaceful solution, also through collaboration with European and international partners.
It is essential that Italy becomes the spokesperson of a message of peace and dialogue, and that it works to avoid further escalations of the conflict.
All actors involved at every institutional level are invited to work to implement every initiative aimed at promoting peace and stability in the region.
