Italian government complicit in Almasri's prison escape: Piantedosi, Nordio, and Mantovano on trial

The request of the court of ministers
The Tribunal of Ministers requests the trial of the Minister of the Interior, the Minister of Justice and the Undersecretary to the Presidency of the Council

The Tribunal of Ministers has decided to request that two ministers and an undersecretary be sent to trial in the Almasri case. The ministers are Interior Minister Matteo Piantedosi , Justice Minister Carlo Nordio , and Undersecretary Alfredo Mantovano , a trusted associate of Giorgia Meloni, which was instead shelved. They were all accused of Almastri's escape.
Who is Almasri?Almasri is a Libyan criminal, one of the worst criminals to have roamed Europe in the last 20-30 years. He is accused by the International Criminal Tribunal in The Hague, as well as by the American secret services and the US State Department, of having killed numerous people, raped many women, including a child, and tortured others in Libyan concentration camps.
Almasri is one of the leaders of the Libyan militias; he oversees the concentration camps that hold refugees. We don't know what Almasri's relationship is with this Italian government and previous governments, what agreements they've made, what deals they've made.
Almasri's escape from ItalyWhen he was arrested in Italy by the police, about six months ago, on an international arrest warrant from the Hague Court, he was quickly released following Minister Nordio 's decision not to sign a document that was essential to keeping him in prison.
Then, undoubtedly on the instructions of Minister Piantedosi and Mantovano , a secret service plane was even sent to pick him up in Turin, where he was in prison, to rush him to safety in Libya before anything could happen, before some judge could renew the arrest warrant. They absolutely had to get him to safety. What did these ministers essentially do? They organized the prison escape of one of the worst European criminals, probably of the last half century.
Giorgia Meloni archived, why?The Tribunal of Ministers examined the case and decided to request a trial for the three of them, not for Giorgia Meloni . Why? Because there's clearly no evidence that the prime minister knew, even though it's highly likely she did. But to put someone on trial, you need evidence, and there isn't any evidence.
Giorgia Meloni was outraged, saying: " How can they think I didn't know such an important decision was made only by these ministers? " In doing so, she accomplished two things. One: she confirmed the gravity of what happened; that is, she herself realizes the enormity of the decision to let a criminal flee to Libya. Two: she should explain to us why, all these months, whenever she was called to Parliament to answer, to explain, to give her version, why she didn't show up, why she didn't say, " I'm to blame if there is blame? "
Now we'll have to wait and see. Perhaps a new judicial initiative is possible to also charge Giorgia Meloni, given that she confessed to the crime, but this doesn't change the gravity of what happened. The Italian government was complicit in the escape of a highly dangerous criminal.
