Mattarella in the Dolomites, Meloni at the seaside: politicians' favorite vacation destinations

The Falcon 900 landed at Bolzano Airport a few days ago, and upon his arrival , President Sergio Mattarella was greeted by the President of the Province of Bolzano, Arno Kompatscher, and Police Chief Giuseppe Ferrari. A warm welcome and a warm welcome awaited the Head of State as he chose to spend his rest period on the Sciliar plateau, at Villa Ausserer , the logistics and training base for the Army's Alpine Troops, where he later arrived aboard a white helicopter.
Two weeks of relaxation in Siusi, South Tyrol , a choice the president has made several times in recent years. Hikes and walks, and a pleasant surprise for residents and tourists who perhaps unexpectedly encounter the president.
But in August, the entire political spectrum goes on vacation, even though there's no shortage of meetings, dossiers, public appointments, and confidential discussions. In effect, however, the Chambers suspend parliamentary activity, and the government slows down .
Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni is also taking a few days off, probably at the seaside, but obviously without publicizing the locations and destinations too much: according to some rumors , one of the destinations is a Greek island in the Cyclades , before spending a few more relaxing days in Puglia after mid-August.
Chamber of Deputies Speaker Lorenzo Fontana is also spending a few days at the seaside, vacationing in Gargano . Senate Speaker Ignazio La Russa, meanwhile, is reportedly headed to Sicily, possibly spending a few days on the Ligurian Riviera.
In Trentino, Matteo Salvini is expected among the ministers . Antonio Tajani will be on a family holiday in Fiuggi, as will Roberto Calderoli , who will spend a few days at his farmhouse in Monferrato, Piedmont.
Among politicians, the choice is between the sea and the mountains. Democratic Party secretary Elly Schlein is reportedly still deciding on a destination, even though she already has a series of public political appointments scheduled. Nicola Fratoianni , leader of AVS, is targeting the Greek sea, while Angelo Bonelli (Europa Verde) has chosen the mountains of Trentino.
Maurizio Lupi is also enjoying a mountain holiday in Valcamonica. Former Prime Minister and Five Star Movement leader Giuseppe Conte will spend a few days in his "beloved Puglia." Matteo Renzi , leader of the Italian left, is enjoying a family holiday, although the destination has yet to be determined.
A trip to Portugal, however, is the preferred option for Azione leader Carlo Calenda . Filippo Blengino , secretary of the Italian Radicals, has a different choice, announcing he will spend his holidays visiting Italian prisons.
For everyone, however, there will be various public events, in view of the regional election campaign , which already promises to be very intense.
