Mattarella: Prisons should not be training grounds for crime

"Places of detention must not to transform itself into a training ground for new crimes, into a training ground for training for crime, in places of no hope but must be effectively aimed at recovering those who have made mistakes. Every recovered prisoner equals a security advantage for the community as well as being an objective constitutional". The President of the Republic said this, Sergio Mattarella, meeting the Head of State at the Quirinale Department of Penitentiary Administration and a representation of the Penitentiary Police.
