Years of wars, crises, diplomatic incidents: what Italians think of the great powers and anti-Western sentiment

More than three years after Russia's invasion of Ukraine, Vladimir Putin is the bogeyman that scares Italians the most. But the United States of President Donald Trump are no joke either, according to the latest SWG poll for TgLa7 , which, in addition to the usual voting trends, offers an overview of Italians' ideas on the international situation, which has been dominated in recent years by wars, crises, and diplomatic cases.
According to 35% of those interviewed, Vladimir Putin's Russia is the great power that threatens world peace more than any other. Trump's USA follows, with a percentage of 28%. Irrelevant in this case too is the European Union with just 8%. For 36% of those interviewed, anti-Western sentiments abroad are not justified but understandable, for 25% they are both justified and understandable, for 25% they are neither justified nor understandable.

Brothers of Italy, the party of Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni , remains uncatchable at the top, recording an imperceptible slide of just 0.3%. It is at 30.3%. The Azzurri are at 8.3% thanks to a growth of 0.2 while the Carroccio is stable at 8.2%. The majority remains clearly detached.
Even if not above all thanks to the divisions of the opposition , which is struggling. The Democratic Party of secretary Elly Schlein does not lose but does not gain either at 23%. The 5 Star Movement is more than ten points behind at 12.3%. The Green and Left Alliance is more or less stable at 6.6%. Carlo Calenda's Azione is up 0.2%, at 3.8%, while Matteo Renzi's Italia Viva is down 0.1% at 2%. +Europa is up 0.2%, at 1.7%. Under the generic heading "other lists" 3.8%, 32% do not express themselves, a percentage that has dropped by 1%, confirming the very high abstention rates at each electoral round.
