Political polls: What Italians think of Trump's tariffs, the latest survey on political parties and the government

Swg for La7
What should Italy do: negotiate with the White House through Europe or independently? Voting trends on the political parties

The tariffs imposed by US President Donald Trump are causing considerable concern. Despite his close friendship with Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni , Trump has not spared Europe, including Italy . In addition to the usual, pompous voting trends, the latest SWG poll for Enrico Mentana's TgLa7 also explores this issue.
According to 56% of respondents, the center-right government should negotiate with Trump within the European Union to reach a comprehensive agreement with Washington. Thirty-four percent of respondents disagree, preferring independent negotiations to protect Italians' interests.

The top three parties are slipping: the Prime Minister's party, Brothers of Italy , is down 0.4% to 29.9%, while the Democratic Party, led by secretary Elly Schlein , isn't taking advantage of the situation, losing 0.3% to 22.7%. A positive sign for the Five Star Movement, which is up 0.3% to 13%.
Meanwhile, the League is winning the internal derby within the governing center-right: the League is at 8.4%, while Forza Italia is at 7.9%. The Alliance of the Greens and the Left remains roughly stable at 6.9%. Carlo Calenda's Azione is stable at 3.5%, while Italia Viva barely rises to 2.4%.
+Europa is at 2%, We Moderates at 1%. The generic "other lists" category garners 2.3%, while 30% of respondents did not express an opinion, a percentage down 3% but still very high, confirming the abstention rates at every election. The data were calculated with respect to July 14th.
