Pope welcomes Prime Minister Meloni, 'great pleasure'

"A pleasure to meet you": with these words Pope Prevost welcomed Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni this morning in the Apostolic Palace. The Prime Minister, among the topics of discussion, mentioned the summit on food security that will be held at the end of July in Ethiopia. Then she gave the Pontiff a 17th-century print depicting the Angelicum, the place where Pope Leo XIV studied. At the end of the meeting, Meloni said goodbye to the Pontiff ("have a good day, good work"), and went to the Secretariat of State with Deputy Prime Ministers Antonio Tajani and Matteo Salvini. Here they met with Cardinal Secretary of State Pietro Parolin and the Secretary for Relations with States, Monsignor Paul Richard Gallagher.
