Pozzolo expelled from Fratelli d'Italia to "save" Delmastro. Meloni does not want media "stains"
Emanuele Pozzolo has been expelled from the Brothers of Italy group in the Chamber. Il Foglio reports the news. On New Year's Eve 2024, during a party in the premises of the Pro Loco in Rosazza , in the Biella area, which was also attended by the Undersecretary of Justice Andrea Delmastro, a gunshot was fired, wounding 31-year-old Luca Campana, son-in-law of Delmastro's head guard, in the leg.
The mini revolver from which the shot was fired turned out to belong to the then deputy of Fratelli d'Italia Pozzolo, who was also present at the ball. Subjected to the stub test by the RIS of Parma, Pozzolo was positive with " significant " gunpowder residues on his hands and clothes, thus triggering his suspension from Fratelli d'Italia.
Sources from Fratelli d'Italia explain that Pozzolo's expulsion from the group, announced several times and then postponed, is needed to remove any "stain" from the party, especially from a media point of view and towards militants and public opinion. Giorgia Meloni wants a crystal-clear party, in essence, and in this way she also "saves" the undersecretary of justice Delmastro . The issue of the Minister of Tourism Daniela Santanchè remains, but in FdI they explain that these are "totally different" cases and that "a trial on corporate issues cannot be equated to a gunshot that injured a person".
