The Sansepolcro Democratic Party expresses its full and convinced support for the motion presented by the Adesso council group, which will be discussed at the next city council meeting.

The words contained in the motion are powerful, painful, but necessary. In Gaza, people continue to die from bombs, hunger, and lack of healthcare. Food isn't arriving, medicine is lacking. It's a humanitarian catastrophe unfolding before the eyes of the entire world, a tragedy we thought belonged to the dark pages of our history.

That the State of Israel, born from the horror of extermination, can now conduct operations that risk annihilating an entire people is something democratic conscience cannot accept. The wound caused by the Hamas attack cannot and must not justify a vengeance that inflicts innocent lives.

When there is no food, no medicine, no dignity, it is no longer war: it is erasure.

It's inhumanity.

For this reason, we hope that the entire Sansepolcro city council, regardless of political differences, will express a unanimous, clear, and decisive condemnation of what is happening.

Ours is a call for moral responsibility and justice.

Silence, today, is complicity.

As the Democratic Party, we are ready to support and promote public demonstrations, information initiatives, and mobilizations, because we believe that local communities have the duty—as well as the right—to make their voices heard, even in the face of tragedies that unfold far away but profoundly question the humanity of each of us.

We cannot remain indifferent.
