Although, as is usual in these cases, the interested parties avoid the label of "new current", it is undeniable that the experiment is being launched to coordinate common efforts and ideas . So from Monday within the Pd world there will be a new entity, called "Rete civica solidale", launched with the aim of giving greater weight to some battles of the so-called pacifist world. It is no coincidence that among the network's animators is the MEP Marco Tarquinio, who again this week , speaking to Il Foglio, expressed all his concerns about the European rearmament policy. Asking that within the Pd there be more respect for those who think like him. And so no sooner said than done: the network will debut, as mentioned, next Monday. And it will see among its referents, in addition to the former director of Avvenire, also Paolo Ciani , deputy leader of the Democratic Party in the Chamber, secretary of Democrazia Solidale-Demos. Moreover, the duo, Tarquinio-Ciani, had already been seen together in the square against the rearmament of June 21st. Among the other names, there is also that of the president of Umbria Stefania Proietti, who has always claimed pacifist positions. And then again the vice president of the Regional Council of Basilicata Angelo Chiorazzo, the mayor of Udine Felice De Toni. But the list is still being updated, and includes the collaboration of other local administrators.
"We are people, Territorial Civic Movements, Parties that have 'put themselves on the line' by running for office and being elected, by administering, by opposing, at local, national and European level, in the centre-left area, but not belonging to the parties represented in Parliament", states a document shared by the Network. " We are personally called to commitment by a Christian and secular formation united by the great constitutional values of our democracy" and "we feel the need to commit ourselves together and with greater responsibility to respond to some challenges that we consider very important for our time by working together in a Network that contributes to connecting the many who do not want to give in to resignation and indifference and have the common good at heart ". The idea, therefore, is also to resume the experience of the Trieste Network, animated by a Catholic culture. But the intent is clear, beyond whether it really becomes a current or not, to count more within the Democratic Party.
