Visibilia, Santanchè trial postponed to June 10, new charges from the prosecutors

The Milan trial that sees Tourism Minister Daniera Santanchè and 16 other defendants in the dock for the alleged false accounting of Visibilia will resume on June 10. The date of the next hearing has been set by the Court of Milan , which has accepted the defense's request to order the postponement of the proceedings to give the lawyers of the various defendants the time necessary to study the charge in the new version "reformulated" by the prosecution .

It was the judges of the second criminal section of Milan themselves, during the first hearing, who ordered the prosecutors to reformulate the charge in a more precise and detailed manner, especially with regard to the subdivision of the individual charges, to be catalogued year by year.

The "updated" version of the indictment was filed today, the Court gave the defense an hour to analyze it, but the lawyers asked for more time. "It is a document that we only learned about today: we need to have time to study the document filed by the prosecution and verify whether there is anything different compared to the previous version", explained the lawyer Antonella Augimeri in court. The judges have thus adjourned the proceedings, postponing them to June 10.

According to the accusations, the minister's company, when she did not yet hold institutional roles, would have had falsified balance sheets between 2016 and 2022 to hide losses and allow the company to survive. The judge declared the charges for the years from 2016 to 2018 time-barred.

This is the proceeding for the hypothesis of false accounting that involves a total of 17 people , including the minister's partner, Dimitri Kunz, plus the three companies of the publishing group (i.e. Visibilia Editore, a company listed on Piazza Affari, Visibilia Editrice and Visibilia Srl in liquidation). It is the group founded by the senator of Fratelli d'Italia herself, from which she had left all positions in 2022, to then definitively sell her shares on Christmas Eve 2024, a few weeks ago (through the sale of 75% of the parent company Athena Pubblicità to the Swiss of Wip Finance).
