Memorandum Italy-Norway on observation of solar phenomena

The Italian Embassy in Oslo has hosted today the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding within the framework of the project Solaris, which has as its object the observation of solar phenomena and space weather. Solaris is a scientific and technological project between institutions Italian research and universities with the aim of developing an intelligent, high-frequency monitoring system radio of solar phenomena, based on imaging techniques "single-dish". The MoU aims to create two new points of observation near Tromsø, in northern Norway, and in the Arctic archipelago of Svalbard, which is will add to the Solaris radio telescopes already present in Antarctica.
