Pa Digitale, 70 million to the Provinces for migration to Cloud

"Thanks to the coordination and collaboration between Upi and the Department for Digital Transformation, the Provinces will have 70 million available to migrate their data and services to the cloud on the qualified cloud. A goal that we have achieved with Undersecretary Butti, who decided to dedicate a public notice specifically dedicated to Provinces and Metropolitan Cities, filling the gap caused by the exclusion of these entities from the Pnrr funding on digitalization". This was stated by the president of Upi Unione delle province italiane, Pasquale Gandolfi, speaking at the conference 'Artificial Intelligence for Local PA' underway in Rome, promoted by Upi together with Ali Lega delle Autonomie Locali and the PromoPA foundation.

"The resources made available will give the Provinces the opportunity to participate in the technological evolution of public administration - Gandolfi underlined - and will allow them to discuss a more comprehensive digitalization strategy even after 2026. The Provinces - he then concluded - can help promote an inclusive and conscious development of AI in local administrations that avoids logics of forced disintermediation and allows us to enrich our local ecosystems. For this reason, we will take action to promote among the Provinces, together with the local authorities of the territory, strategies for the use of artificial intelligence systems, which allow us to strengthen the ability to oversee the development of knowledge, innovation, productivity and local sustainable development".
