Writing in the Age of AI: Lenovo and Belleville's Project Merging Human Talent and Technology

There is a new project aimed at bringing the youngest closer to the world of artificial intelligence but in a more conscious and constructive way. Lenovo, in collaboration with the Belleville School, proposes the initiative Demonstrate being human - Writing stories in the time of AI aimed at writers and storytelling enthusiasts: an in-person workshop that will take place in Milan, designed for ten authors selected through a national call: the participants, guided by Francesco D'Isa, will work on their own narrative project experimenting how generative technologies, such as AI, can support and enrich the writing process.
"With this initiative we want to underline how technology and culture are deeply interconnected, they are expressions of a single path through which the human being explores himself and the world around him. As we have shown with 'AI Yoga, Artistic Intelligences', AI is not only a technical progress, but an integral component of our cultural landscape, capable of influencing and supporting artistic creation" explains Pietro Parodi, PR & Communication Leader Italy & Israel of Lenovo, and continues "Lenovo, which designs hundreds of AI solutions, from devices to services, is committed to supporting creatives in today's challenge, which is to not consider AI as a tool to passively draw from, but as an interlocutor with whom to dialogue to develop new forms of expression. Our goal is to promote a conscious and stimulating use of technology, which strengthens the human capacity to create, without replacing it".
The initiative, in fact, is part of Lenovo's path that aims to explore the link between creativity and artificial intelligence, as already demonstrated in the AI Yoga for Artistic Intelligences exhibition hosted at the MEET Digital Culture Center in Milan; the protagonist is the Yoga Slim 7i Aura Edition: a latest-generation notebook from the Intel Evo Edition line with Copilot + technology and Intel Core Ultra processors, which integrates AI technologies and offers tools to support creative work.
The project is divided into an open lesson, an open call, a workshop and finally a podcast, all to reflect on how generative models can become useful tools for those who tell stories. Francesca Cristoffanini, director of the Belleville Writing School, comments: “Technology has always had a profound impact on the way in which knowledge and culture are conceived, shared and enjoyed. Faced with the rapid evolution of artificial intelligence, those who write are called to take up a challenge of knowledge: only by appropriating the tools of change will writers be able to continue to exercise their creative primacy in a conscious and increasingly effective way”.
It starts next June 5th at 6:30 pm with a 90-minute online meeting with Francesco D'Isa - writer, visual artist and teacher from Belleville - to explore how artificial intelligence can be used in literary writing: an appointment open to all to discuss the potential, applications and limits of AI in the creative process.
To apply for the workshops, instead, you will have to participate in the free call by creating an unpublished story of a maximum of 3,600 characters - spaces included - that explores the relationship between human creativity and artificial intelligence and that can be sent, from June 6 to July 31, 2025, through a dedicated form: more information and the rules can be found on the official website of the Belleville School.
The selected authors will then be able to participate in four-hour workshops to experiment how and why AI can improve the productivity of those who write: once the work is finished, the participants will have two more weeks to perfect the work and send it to Belleville. The winner will receive a Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Aura Edition PC, training at the Belleville School within the Scrivere di Notte module and will participate in the fifth and final episode of the podcast linked to the initiative and produced by Belleville for Lenovo.
