AC Milan put on a show: Liverpool were defeated 4-2. Leao dedicated the goal and victory to Diogo Jota.

It's only a friendly, but Milan's victory is one that gives them confidence, to say the least: 4-2 against English champions Liverpool at the Kai Tak Sports Park in Hong Kong. Allegri's Rossoneri started strongly and took the lead after ten minutes: Pulisic played through to Leao, who broke away down the left, eluded Van Djik's tackle, and beat Alisson with a precise, powerful left-footed shot.

Leao's tribute to Diogo Jota

Leao celebrated by paying homage to his compatriot Diogo Jota, making a gesture of 20 with his hands (the national team number of the player who tragically died in a car accident on July 3rd along with his brother André Silva) and then making a prayer. Ten minutes later, in the 20th minute, the entire stadium paid tribute to Jota.

Okafor double

In the 26th minute, the English side equalized: Szoboszlai received the ball on the edge of the penalty area and beat Maignan with a soft right-footed shot into the corner. It was an entertaining match, with chances at both ends. In the second half, Milan took the lead again in the 52nd minute: Leao, once again at pace, caused panic, passing to Loftus-Cheek who fired home with a low shot. Eight more minutes later, Okafor scored the third, netting a first-time pass from Saelemaekers. Liverpool pulled one back through Gakpo in the closing stages, and Milan, for whom Estupinan made his debut, sealed the victory with a brace from Okafor.
