The Bari Police Chief has issued seven bans (daspo) against as many Altamura Calcio fans, following the clashes and misbehavior that occurred on February 16 at the "Veneziani" stadium in Monopoli, during the match against Altamura, valid for Group C of the Lega Pro championship.
The measures, announced in recent days, follow a detailed investigation conducted by the State Police. The recipients are all residents of the city of Altamura and are between the ages of 19 and 55. One of them has previously been investigated for setting off explosives near a sports facility.
According to police reports, during the match, several Altamura supporters belonging to organized groups engaged in violent acts both inside and outside the stadium. Some lit and detonated firecrackers and smoke bombs, while others climbed the glass partitions to provoke local fans and attempt a confrontation. Some also attempted to block the stadium's video surveillance cameras.
The DASPO measures, which last between two and three years, prohibit the individuals involved from accessing all venues where sporting events are held, throughout the country, even in the absence of additional provisions.
