The “Triveneto Meeting Internazionale” could not miss two top athletes who grew up in the Trieste area. On Saturday 26 July, on the Cologna track, Elisa Di Lazzaro (Carabinieri) and Nicla Mosetti (Nissolino Sport) will compete, the strongest Julian specialists ever in the 100m hurdles. The two specialists said “yes” to the invitation of the Polisportiva Triveneto Trieste, working to organize the 18th edition of the meeting. The event is included in the Challenger series of the Continental Tour of World Athletics, the world athletics federation.

PROTAGONISTS. There is great anticipation to see the two hurdlers, who grew up in Pentatletica Trieste, compete in the city. Di Lazzaro, born in 1998, was the Italian overall champion in the 100 hurdles in 2022, the year in which she took part in the world championships in Eugene. Followed by Giorgio Frinolli, she was able to sign her personal best of 12''90 in 2021 (+ 1.7 the wind), a performance that represents the sixth Italian time ever. Azzurra at the Olympic Games in Tokyo also in 2021, she is currently having an excellent competitive year: in the indoor season she was called up to the national team in the 60 hurdles for the European championships in Apeldoorn (exited in the semifinals) and for the world championships in Nanjing. At outdoor level she returned under 13'' last June 22 in Troyes, where she signed a good 12''98 (-0.2). Mosetti, born in 1997, Italian indoor champion in the 60m hurdles in 2023, won the silver medal at the Mediterranean Games in Oran in 2022, a competition in which she also set her own record of 13''02 (+1.0). This year she dropped to 13''28 in Poland in Gorzow Wielkopolski (-1.4). The two athletes from Giulia will compete on their home track in preparation for the Italian absolute championships, scheduled in Caorle from 1st to 3rd August.

THE OTHER PROTAGONISTS. In the men's 800 there will not only be the announced Francesco Pernici (Fiamme Gialle), capable of an excellent second place at the European team championships in Madrid with a personal best and minimum for the world championships in Tokyo included (1'44''39). With the financier from Brescia, who then further improved in Nancy with a time of 1'44''28, will run Amel Tuka, Bosnian, bronze medal in the double lap of the track at the world championships in Beijing in 2015 and silver in the same competition four years later in Doha. In the women's 100, with Irene Siragusa (Esercito), there will be her teammate Giorgia Bellinazzi, capable of changing gear in 2025: she set personal bests in Geneva last June 21 both in the straight (11''54, +1.6) and in the 200 (23''16, + 1.8). In the high jump, space is given to Eugenio Meloni (Carabinieri), an Italian athlete at the European Indoor Championships last March in Apeldoorn (personal best of 2.21) and to Federico Celebrin (Trevisatletica), a 20-year-old who has already achieved 2.23 and who will be an Italian athlete at the European U23 Championships in Bergen on 17-20 July.

THE PROGRAM. The Triveneto Meeting will have five events. The specialties reserved for men are the 800 meters, pole vault and high jump; women will be at the start of the 100 meters and 100 meters hurdles. There will also be races reserved for the youth categories (under 10, 12, 14 and 16), masters and Paralympics. The event, organized also thanks to the contribution of the Municipality of Trieste and the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region, is also part of the High Speed ​​League circuit, which includes the collaboration of Queen Atletica. The events scheduled in this regard are the 100, 200 and 400 meters flat for men and women and the 100 meters hurdles for women.

THE TIMES. The meeting will start at 3:00 pm with the 60 meters flat reserved for paralympic athletes. The highlight between 5:40 pm and 7:10 pm with the invitation specialties. Grand finale with the High Speed ​​League races. Closing at 8:30 pm.
