Brescia, rescue operation. But the ultras contest the merger: "114 years of history are being erased"

Brescia – The official communication of exclusion from the championship by the competent bodies will not arrive before June 26 , but the deadline to try to find a plan B for Brescia Calcio is not expected.

Tomorrow in the Loggia there will be a meeting between the municipal administration and the representatives of FeralpiSalò, Lumezzane and Ospitaletto (respectively Giuseppe Pasini, Lodovico Camozzi and Giuseppe Taini): an exploratory phase that the Loggia "has made itself available to support, with its own tools", to safeguard "the football identity of Brescia, in legality, transparency and with a constructive spirit". What do the fans think? In addition to the anger and disappointment, on Friday evening it was discussed at the Rigamonti , where a thousand fans gathered in response to the appeal of the Curva Nord . “For the first time since I have been a Brescia fan, in 45 years as an ultra, the Municipality has decided to side with us fans. They assured us that they will try to get us started in Lega Pro – explained Enzo Ghidesi, one of the leaders of the white and blue fans –. If Camozzi or Pasini agree to change the name and colors of their team, we have no objections in this regard. We cannot call ourselves Lumezzane or FeralpiSalò. We will be Brixia25, we will see, but these are clear conditions, name and colors . If they accept this, it will be a good starting point”.

In a note, Ultras Brescia 1911 instead expresses dissent for a merger with sports clubs in the province . "The fans of Brescia are being led to believe that a merger with one or more clubs in our province of Brescia could become the ideal solution and this without even having consulted the rest of the fans or the interested parties. This is certainly the quickest and least tiring choice. And who cares about the 114 years of history of Brescia, the history of the other clubs in Brescia, considered small and inferior to that of Brescia Calcio, even though they have something to teach".

Unanimous, however, is the opinion on Cellino, which can be summarized with the hashtag “Cellino go away” of the ultras. “He is ready to continue his battle with the lawyers, because he wanted an extension on his registration – Ghidesi recalled –. This is just to make you understand who we are dealing with. He does not want to leave this yoke with which he has been blackmailing us for years now : together we will be able to free ourselves of him”.
