Como, football and charity: the Franco Chignoli Memorial presented at Zambrotta's "home"

From a provincial youth tournament to an international tournament-event in less than four years. The Memorial Franco Chignoli is approaching the kick-off and to date it presents itself as the richest edition ever. Created by Olivier Chignoli in 2022 to pay homage to his father, a former sports manager, it will host 12 professional clubs - “Pulcini 2° anno” category - on May 24 and 25 in Casnate con Bernate, inside the Eracle sports center of former world champion Gianluca Zambrotta , with the presence for the first time of four foreign clubs: FC Bayern München, FC Schalke 04, Leeds United FC, Olympique De Marseille, AC Milan, AS Roma, FC Empoli, FC Inter, FC Juventus, FC Torino, Atalanta Bergamasca Calcio, Como 1907 .

The sports part continues to grow above the fertile ground of charity, the true common thread of the entire event. This year, there will be seven beneficiary organizations, with the goal of exceeding the 17,500 euros raised in 2024 and reaching, thanks to this edition, a total figure of around 60,000 euros. Specifically, the money raised will be donated to the Hôpital Salpêtrière in Paris, Azzurrini Academy, Fondazione Francesca Rava, Paolo Rossi Foundation, L'Associazione Amici per il Centrafrica Carla Maria Pagani ODV, Agora' 97 and Sostegno 70. A cause that over time has won over a good number of well-known figures from the world of sport, current ambassadors of the event: from Giuseppe Bergomi to Filippo Galli, from Pietro Vierchowod to Massimo Ambrosini up to Martina Colombari.
