Ernesto Pellegrini , a restaurant entrepreneur and president of Inter from 1984 to 1995, has died at the age of 84. Under his management, the Nerazzurri club won the record-breaking Scudetto, closing the 1988-1989 season with 58 points in 34 games (at the time, a victory was worth 2 points). Also in 1989, his Inter won the Italian Super Cup and in 1991, after twenty-six years without a victory in Europe, the UEFA Cup, beating Roma in the final.
