Alga Atletica Arezzo - Filippo Misuri and Marcello Sadocchi
Arezzo, September 24, 2025 - Filippo Misuri of Alga Atletica Arezzo is at the top of Italian youth athletics. The Arezzo athlete, born in 2009, opened the new competition season at the senior and youth meet in Fabriano, where he won the high jump with 2.03 meters. This, in addition to being a new personal best, is the best performance recorded in Italy in the youth category in 2025. After finishing seventh in February at the Italian Indoor Championships with a leap of 1.90 meters, Misuri has shown significant improvement, reflecting the hard work he has put in at the "Tenti" athletics stadium in Arezzo with coach Marcello Sadocchi. This improvement is testament to the growth he has undertaken in recent months, where his talent has been supported by character, passion, and daily dedication. The 2.03 meters achieved in his first year as a student athlete are a truly remarkable achievement, placing him among the top national prospects in the discipline and allowing us to look forward to the upcoming Italian competitions with particular optimism.
The senior and junior meet in Fabriano brought further success to Alga Atletica Arezzo, who returned from the Marche region with two golds, two silvers, two bronzes, and multiple personal bests. The thrill of standing on the top step of the podium was also experienced by Gemma Fabbriciani (2009), who finished first in the long jump with a personal best of 5.32 meters. Other medals were earned by Stella Arniani (2009) (second in the long jump with a personal best of 4.85 meters), Elena Vella (2008) (second in the high jump with 1.40 meters), Riccardo Cincinelli (2005) (third in the 400 hurdles with 56.83 seconds), and Francesco Tortorelli (2009) (third in the long jump with 5.98 meters). Positive performances were also achieved by Lorenza De Silva (born in 2007) (fourth in the 200-meter dash with 26.70 seconds), Filippo Guiducci (born in 2007) (fifth in the triple jump with a personal best of 13.65 meters), Alessandro Bruni (born in 2008) (personal best in the 200-meter dash with 24.81 seconds), and Misuri again, who finished sixth in the triple jump with a personal best of 13.53 meters. Alga Atletica Arezzo's weekend was further enhanced by a regional medal celebrated in Lucca at the Tuscan Individual Championships in the Cadet category thanks to Flavia Matteucci (born in 2010), who took silver in the triple jump with 10.65 meters and then finished fourth in the long jump with 4.86 meters. The Arezzo team also performed well, with Ginevra Tigliè finishing seventh in the 300m hurdles with a personal best of 54.38 seconds. Anna Bigiarini, Matteo Cartocci, Gabriele Corbelli, Agnese Marraghini, and Lisa Rossi also took to the track in various events, enjoying a positive experience of comparison, training, and growth that also served as a valuable test of the level of preparation they had undertaken over the summer.
