The evening of Monday the 25th at the Bettole Hippodrome features a total of seven races, starting at 7:55 pm (admission is free and the racecourse has a capacity of 2,420 spectators). The main event is the twenty-fifth Mirko Marcialis Memorial , which commemorates the jockey who passed away on July 16, 2000, not yet 19 years old, following a fall on the Bettole track. The track was where the young jockey made his debut (fifth place with Senator on November 27, 1997), where he achieved his first victory (which came on Boxing Day of the same year with Back to Front), and where he achieved his last laurel (with Vritty on July 7, 2000, nine days before his death).
