Laura's (Rogora) redemption: she's silver in the Innsbruck World Cup

A Laura Rogora in great form made up for it with interest in the third seasonal stage of the Lead World Cup , one of the three sport climbing specialties that will represent a single medal event in the Los Angeles 2028 Games after being included in the Paris 2024 program in combination with bouldering ( boulder & lead ). After the bitter double fourth place with which she said goodbye to the first two events of this year between Wujiang (China) and Bali (Indonesia), in fact, the Roman born in 2001 took second place on the wall of the famous Kletterzentrum in Innsbruck (Austria) .

Already in second place at the end of the qualifications (4.74) and the semi-final (42+), the young Roman was also a major protagonist in the final act reserved for the best eight climbers . The only one who did better than the Italian (33) in the final was the Slovenian champion Janja Garnbret, the undisputed dominator of the preliminary phase and the penultimate act, who finished her climb with a score of 41. The British Erin McNeice 32+ completed the podium, managing to get the better of the other Slovenian Rosa Rekar (31+), the threatening American Annie Sanders (30) and the Korean Chaehyun Seo (30). For Rogora, the reigning European champion, this is a welcome return to the podium in this specialty in a competition on the top international circuit. The last time, in fact, she managed to do so was in July last year in the French stage of Briançon, where the Italian finished with another second place.
