This morning, June 23, 2025, around 7.20 am , a road accident occurred in Piazza Europa , right near the ferry landing stage . According to AREU (Regional Emergency and Urgency Agency), a car crashed into an obstacle , involving an 81-year-old woman.

Emergency services arrived promptly on site with various means: an ambulance from the Red Cross of Gavirate, a medical car and a helicopter rescue, which subsequently transported the patient to the hospital. The woman's conditions are not known at the moment, but the dynamics and the intervention of the helicopter suggest the need for immediate care: the code, for the rescuers, is yellow, meaning with serious injuries but not life-threatening.

The Carabinieri of Luino also went to the scene, charged with carrying out investigations to clarify the exact dynamics of what happened.
