Laveno Mombello is preparing to welcome the world with a calendar full of collateral events on the occasion of the 3rd Hang Gliding World Championship Sport Class, scheduled from 1 to 14 June 2025. Not just sports and aerial acrobatics: the international event will be accompanied by musical shows, artistic performances, gastronomy and cultural moments designed to involve citizens, tourists and families.
Sunday 1st: Opening ceremony with music, dance and hot air balloons The inauguration kicks off in the afternoon with “Dancing on Bach”, an acrobatic show on the notes of Bach on the cello, on stage at 4 pm in the Gaggetto area facing the lake, in collaboration with Gli Echi della Natura. In case of bad weather, the event will move to the library. Following this, the show “Visioni Volanti” takes the audience into the world of hot air balloons, on stage from 6pm to 9.15pm in the Gaggetto area at Pratone.
At 6:30 pm the Athletes' Parade is scheduled, which will parade through the town to Villa Frua, accompanied by the Corpo Musicale S. Cecilia. The official opening ceremony will be held at 7 pm in the park of Villa Frua. The evening will continue with a food stand by the Pro Loco and, from 9 pm, the Gran Galà di Lux Arcana, a suggestive show with fire and light artists that will close the day in style.
Saturday 7th: electronic music and food trucks The first weekend of the World Championship continues with an event designed for the younger ones. On Saturday 7th June there will be a DJ and Live Set with “Icaro park & Sunfish collective”, in the Campo volo Icaro 2000 area (Pradeccio) from 4pm to midnight. The event costs 5 euros and will also offer food & beverage by Meazcla & Sunfish.

Sunday 8th: Rock under the stars An unmissable event for lovers of Italian and international rock : at 9.30 pm, Villa Frua hosts a live concert by the band “Targhe Alterne”, which will revive hits from the 70s to the 90s.
Saturday 14th: final awards ceremony The award ceremony for the winning athletes and teams will be held on Saturday 14 June at 11 am in the Villa Frua park . In case of rain, the ceremony will be moved to the Council Hall.
