Loro Piana Giraglia, line honours for Scallywag and Ker 40 on the highest podium

Light breezes, everyone hunting for spots of wind along the 200-mile route on the Saint-Tropez – Giraglia – Genoa triangle. The “long” of the Loro Piana Giraglia n. 72 was long, but very technical and also with a heart-stopping finale, on Thursday 12 June, when the Maxi 100 Scallywag and Magic Carpet E (Francesco de Angelis as tactician) appeared on the horizon of the Ligurian capital, crossing the finish line with just 2 minutes and 13 seconds of difference in favor of the first, captained by Australian skipper David "Witty" Witt, closing in 32 hours, 58 minutes and 47 seconds. Third was the 80' Maxi Capricorno by Alessandro Del Bono.

The heart-stopping arrival between Scallywag and Magic Carpet E (St. Borlenghi)
So the line honours. The winner of the Loro Piana Giraglia 2025 – that is, the first classified in compensated time of the largest group – is the Luxembourg Ker 40 Vito 2.3 of Gian Marco Magrini, who writes his name on the Loro Piana Challenge Trophy. The awards ceremony at the Yacht Club Italiano, which organized this Mediterranean classic.
