Prato, 5 July 2025 – The fifth edition of the ride in memory of Giovanni Iannelli , the young cyclist who tragically died in Piedmont at the finish line of a race, took place with great participation.
The event, which started from Piazza del Duomo in Prato, ended in Carmignano, in front of the mural that commemorates him. Despite the recent mourning for the death of his father, Carlo Iannelli – Giovanni's father – wanted to be present, renewing with his tenacity his commitment to road safety for cyclists. Giovanni's story, for which justice has not yet recognized responsibility, continues to shake consciences: his memory has become a symbol of the fragility of cyclists on the roads and of the urgent need for respect and awareness.
"Giovanni's is a tragedy that happens every day," Carlo recalled, "because bullying on the roads too often doesn't turn into a tragedy just by pure chance." During the route, a brief stop was made in La Serra, where all participants were given the Orange Jersey, a symbol of Giovanni's memory, free of charge. Then the group continued towards Carmignano, up to the mural dedicated to the young athlete. Photographic service by ETS " Give Me a Smile " .
