From video games to real soccer, the step is increasingly shorter. And this time not for the playful aspect, but for the approach to the world of real soccer. Electronic Arts, Mls and Apple TV have in fact announced a novelty that marks a step forward in the integration between sport and the digital world: starting this month, four matches of the Major League Soccer will be visible live on the video game Ea Sports Fc Mobile, or what was once called Fifa. An initiative that will therefore allow Fc Mobile players to follow real sporting events directly within the video game, without having to change platforms.
The first broadcast will be today at 1:30 Italian time, with the rematch of the MLS Cup 2024 final between LA Galaxy and New York Red Bulls. The second appointment, also live on Fcm Tv, will be on May 17 with Atlanta United against Philadelphia Union, while the last two matches will be broadcast in September and will therefore be announced in the coming weeks. A way not only to expand the audience of the American MLS, but also to reach a young and digital audience, that is, one that moves between sports, streaming and video games in a fluid way. In essence, those that the world of soccer calls "new generations", underlining how they are often less interested in the ball. "By bringing some MLS Season Pass matches live on EA Sports FC Mobile, we are reaching a new and digitally native audience around the world and continuing to expand the way we build relationships with fans", said Camilo Durana, executive VP of Major League Soccer.
