Roland Garros, Sinner gets rid of Bublik in three sets (6-1; 7-5; 6-0) and flies to the semifinals

Jannik Sinner has qualified for the semifinals of Roland Garros, the second slam of the season, beating Kazakh Alexander Bublik in three sets, with a score of 6-1, 7-5, 6-0. The next opponent in Paris for the world no. 1 will be one of Novak Djokovic or Alexander Zverev, who will face each other tonight.

An unstoppable march. That of Jannik Sinner at Roland Garros. The Italian tennis player, number 1 in the world and in the draw, qualifies for his second consecutive semifinal on the red clay of Paris by beating the Kazakh Alexander Bublik, number 62 ATP, in three sets with a score of 6-1, 7-5, 6-0 in 1 hour and 49 minutes. In the semifinal Sinner awaits the winner of the last quarterfinal scheduled for tonight, the one between the former number 1 Novak Djokovic and the German Alexander Zverev, number 3 in the world. Sinner has won the last 19 matches played in the Slams after having consecutively won the title at the US Open last year and at the Australian Open at the beginning of this season. Not only that, Sinner reaches the semifinal at Roland Garros without having lost a single set and becomes the first Italian to reach six major semifinals. The South Tyrolean thus reaches Lorenzo Musetti. Only one other time in the history of tennis have two Italians finished in the top four of the same Slam: Nicola Pietrangeli, who would triumph for the second time in a row, and Orlando Sirola, also at the 1960 Roland Garros.
