Sailing. The Fano Sailing Club is back with the wind in its sails: it's bringing the Challenge-Otto spiagge trophy back to the city.

Eight sailing clubs competed with forty boats and two hundred athletes taking part in a spectacular event.
The Adriatic wind is blowing again through the province: the Club Nautico Fanese has won the 2025 edition of the Trofeo Otto Spiagge, bringing the prestigious Challenge Trophy back to Fano. The event, now in its second year after its revival, involved eight sailing clubs from Pesaro to Senigallia, with over two hundred athletes aged 7 to 75. The final two regattas were held at the Vela Club Marotta, which hosted the final day in rough seas and strong winds of up to 25 knots, with 40 boats in the water, followed by a cabin cruiser with a federal FIV judge from Senigallia. The results rewarded the provincial clubs: Leonardo Passinetti of the Club Nautico Fanese won the single-handed dinghy and overall classification; the Emiliani-Marchetti pair of the Circolo Velico Ardizio of Pesaro won the double-handed dinghy; and in the catamaran race, Vasinto Filippetti of the Circolo Velico Torrette won. With these performances, the Fanese Nautical Club outperformed the competition and snatched the Challenge Trophy from last year's winner, the Senigallia Sailing Association. The celebrations concluded with a closing dinner at the Marotta Sailing Club attended by 150 athletes, families, and friends. The final tally speaks for itself: 154 boats and 204 individual athletes competed, with the participation of prominent names such as Marco Gradoni and Sofia Giondi. Senigallia, with its clubs, made the level even more competitive, but it was the province of Pesaro-Urbino that shone: Fano and Pesaro brought back the trophy that unites sport, tradition, and tourism.
