Salernitana, 8 footballers poisoned: now they are hospitalized

Eight Salernitana players, along with all the technical staff and half the medical staff, were hospitalised in Salerno (Ruggi hospital) and Battipaglia (Santa Maria della Speranza) after ingesting rice, a dish included in the post-match travel basket.

Last night the Sampdoria-Salernitana match was played, first leg of the playout.

The investigations

The police interviewed the club doctor to reconstruct the network of contacts and to trace the hotel in Genoa that handled the distribution of meals.
