Serie B Playoffs, Juve Stabia and Spezia win the first leg

Serie B Playoffs, Juve Stabia and Spezia win the first leg

Cremonese and Catanzaro Beats

The first leg of the promotion playoff semi-finals was played in Serie B , with Juve Stabia winning 2-1 at home against Cremonese and Spezia 2-0 in Catanzaro. The return leg is scheduled for Sunday 25 May with the return leg in Cremona at 17:15 and in La Spezia at 19:30.

In the match played at the Romeo Menti in Castellammare di Stabia, the home team, who finished in 5th place in the championship and were able to outclass the much more highly rated Palermo on paper 1-0, won against Cremonese, who finished above them with a 6-point difference and had never been defeated by the Campanians in the previous 4. Pierobon scored for the Stabia team in the 34th minute and the Sicilian executioner Adorante in the 58th minute. Johnsen scored for the guests in the 76th minute, 13 minutes after the penalty missed by teammate De Luca. The result was too small for Juve Stabia, who dominated for most of the match and earned the chance to have two good results out of three in Cremona. The guests were impalpable for long stretches but are hoping to advance to the next round thanks to the only moment of inattention from the home defence at the time of the goal.

At the Nicola Ceravolo stadium in Catanzaro , Spezia, 3rd in the championship, beat the home team in the second half with goals from Di Serio in the 49th minute and an unstoppable free kick from Francesco Pio Esposito in the 60th minute. After the first 90 minutes, D'Angelo's team has put a mortgage on their passage to the final, with Catanzaro having to win by 3 goals at the Alberto Picco stadium in La Spezia.
