Sinner defeats Cerundolo and goes to the quarter-finals in Rome

Jannik Sinner is in the quarterfinals of the Internazionali d'Italia di tennis. The Italian defeated 7-6 (7-2), 6-3 the Argentine Francisco Cerundolo. Match divided into two parts: in the first set Sinner conquered the break in the 5th game, but then lost his serve in the next round.
In a situation of perfect parity, the tiebreak was inevitable, in which the Italian player continued to improve and closed with a partial score of 7-2. In the second set, however, there was no match: Sinner dominated, closing 6-3 and thus conquering his 16th quarterfinal in a Masters 1000 (the second in Rome). For a place in the semifinals, Sinner will face the winner of the challenge between Munar and Ruud.
"It was a great challenge for me, especially at this time when I'm adapting to difficult conditions. There was a very long game, I was mentally solid, I'm very happy because I managed to raise the level, I felt better, it was also a very long day and the crowd helped me in the end". These are the words of Jannik Sinner after the success. "Tomorrow we'll see how I wake up. I still have a lot of things to do to recover, but I needed this match, I'm happy to be back and I'm very happy to be here", added the world number one. "It was a difficult match but I managed to raise the level and I'm happy about it, tomorrow I have the day off, it was a tough match mentally as well as physically but I need these challenges to find my rhythm again", concluded the Italian.
