Sinner today between Wimbledon and F1: "Leclerc wins at Silverstone"

"The Silverstone GP? Leclerc wins". Jannik Sinner is banking on Ferrari red for the Silverstone GP scheduled for today, Sunday 6 July 2025. The world number 1 tennis player is enjoying a day of relative rest at Wimbledon: the round of 16 match against Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov is played on Monday and the Italian can dedicate Sunday to training and, perhaps, watching the finale of the British GP. Ferrari starts from the third row: Lewis Hamilton is fifth on the grid, Charles Leclerc is sixth. For Sinner, however, the disappointing qualifying result does not jeopardize the chances of the Prancing Horse and in particular of Leclerc .

"The race is the race, don't get me down," Sinner says in response to ESPN's questions when American journalists point out that Leclerc isn't even in the top 5 on the grid. "It will be an interesting race. I'm Italian, I love Ferrari and I know Leclerc: I'm betting on him," Sinner says.

On the court, after the easy victory against Martinez in the third round, Sinner ruled out the possibility of going to Silverstone to watch the GP live: "I have to focus on the tournament" but "I will plan my training based on the time of the race.
