Swimming: Italian title for the University at the national championships

Pisa, May 24, 2025 – The University of Pisa team, integrated by a good number of elements that work in the Pisa University Hospital Company, won the Italian title at the national university swimming championships, held in Chieti on May 17 and 18. In addition to having conquered first place in the team ranking, preceding Bologna and Cosenza-Rende, the Pisan athletes returned home with a haul of 28 golds, 10 silvers (of which 2 in the relay) and 5 bronzes .
As for the staff working in Aoup, the School of Specialization in Radiodiagnostics won 4 individual golds and one bronze: gold to Lapo Taddei in the 50 SL (best overall performance of the event) and in the 100 MX (second best overall performance) M35 (in addition to two silvers in the 5x50 MX and in the 4x50 SL) and to Tommaso Brocchini, who won the Italian title in the 50 and 100 RN M30 in addition to the third best overall performance in the latter race, bronze to Stefano Adami in the 50 SL M30.
Daniele Cati, a specialist in Allergology, won gold in the 50 SL (with the second best overall performance) and in the 50 DS M40 (in addition to a silver in the 4x50 SL relay); Roberto D'Ischia of the Departmental Section of Chronic Inflammatory Bowel Diseases, graduated as Italian M35 champion with the two best overall performances in the 50 and 100 FA; Antonio Dore, who works in Interventional Radiology, won 200 and 100 SL (second best overall performance) in the M30 category; Beatrice Silvestrini, a research fellow in the same operational unit, won the 50 (third best overall performance) and 100 DS (first overall performance of the event) in the M30 category; Claudio Traino, of the Health Physics Operational Unit, won 50 and 100 FA (second best overall performance) in the M60 category.
In the same category, Ferdinando Rognini of the Otorhinolaryngology, Audiology and Phoniatrics Operating Unit won the 100 MX while he had to settle for the silver medal in the 50 SL by a whisker and Elisa Mambrini, Innovation and Development Operating Unit, won a silver in the 50 and a bronze in the 100 RN M30 (with the third best overall performance of the event).
The event was organized in the lanes of the Esa Life Swimming Stadium in Chieti by Anciu (National Association of University Clubs), while for the University of Pisa, the coordination and organization were handled by Chiara Caccamo, swimming manager of the University Employees Recreational Club of the University of Pisa, chaired by Federico Soldani.
