Tamara Icardo reaches the final after 15 months. Coello-Tapia and ChinGalan, still the ones

The day of the Premier Padel Malaga P1 finals has arrived at the Palacio de Deportes José M. Martín Carpena . As happened in Bordeaux in the last tournament, Arturo Coello and Agustin Tapia will face off against Fede Chingotto and Ale Galan for the men's title, in the 21st chapter of a match that is rewriting padel history. In the women's draw, Tamara Icardo celebrates her return to the finals after a year and three months and, paired with Marta Ortega , will face Bea Gonzalez and Claudia Fernandez in the match that will open the finals program at 4 pm CET.

MEN - While Coello and Tapia defeated Lucas Bergamini and Paquito Navarro 6-4, 6-0 in the second semifinal, their first match was the most evenly contested of the day. Coki Nieto and Mike Yanguas , who hadn't reached the semifinals since the Doha Major, dominated the first set against Fede Chingotto and Ale Galan . The second seeds, however, rallied to win 1-6, 6-4, 7-6 in two hours and 45 minutes. Sunday's match will be the 21st between the top two pairs in the world: the record stands at 14 wins to 6 for Coello and Tapia, who are also ahead 4-1 in 2025. Arturo and Agus are seeking their seventh title of the season, while Fede and Ale are seeking their fifth.
WOMEN - Before the men's final, the women's final will be played, with Bea Gonzalez and Claudia Fernandez, who, after closing out Ale Salazar and Martina Calvo 's first tournament as a pair (6-2, 6-4), will have the opportunity to win their second title of the season following the one they won in Asuncion. On the other side of the net will be Tamara Icardo and Marta Ortega , who eliminated Ale Alonso and Claudia Jensen (6-2, 6-4) in the first semifinal. Neither player has yet to win a title in 2025, and Icardo has never done so in his career at Premier Padel tournaments: his first and only final dates back to last year's P2 in Puerto Cabello, when Tamara, partnered with Ale Salazar, lost 6-3, 6-4 to Delfi Brea and Bea Gonzalez.
